Nine Year Old Eagerly and Nervously Awaits Ear Piercing

I always thought I'd let Cassidy get her ears pierced on her 8th birthday. Well, that came and went, I wanted it to be her idea and something she really wanted. Now, at age nine, she's been begging to get hers ears pierced. I think she just wanted to do it because her friends have theirs done, but she kept asking. She got all 4's on her report card, so we decided this would be her reward.

Powder Mountain Footage

1st Time Skiing the Slopes

Last Saturday, we took Cassidy and Carson (once again) to Powder Mtn. to try out some skiing. This was their 1st time, so we put them in a class. They both caught on really fast and absolutely love it! They moved from the 'corral' to the tow rope in no time. Carson did great, but needs to work on focusing a little better. He kept looking at his ski tips instead of where he was going. Cassidy's ready for the ski lift, but a little scared (so am I, there's no bar!)

Look between the two mountains above. See the line? Everything below that is the wonderful Utah Smog in the valley. Our air is so bad this time of year. It's nice to get in the mountains, above it.

The First Gift on Christmas Eve

Every Christmas Eve the kids get to open one gift and, of course, it's pajamas. Cassidy has caught on to this and wasn't as excited as Carson was to open the anticipated one gift. I think he was excited to get PJ's that said "I've been good all year" no more worrying about maybe getting some coal in the stocking.

Allred Family

What a cute family, especially this baby girl and her stunning blue eyes! She did a great job tolerating this cold January day and hardly complained. I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed her little finger is pointing in all the pictures... so cute! Thanks for letting me share these pictures Allred Family.

Jingle Bells

Cassidy started piano lessons about 7 months ago. Her teacher has several recitals per year. I think she's finally starting to enjoy playing the piano. When she learns something new she always wants to be perfect the 1st time without practicing. I think this has been a good experience for her to learn that 'practice makes perfect.' Blizzard Halts Ski Vacation

Who would've known, we planned a last minute trip to Powder Mtn and a blizzard decides to hit. Next time we'll check the weather report. We had plans to put the kids in ski lessons but that will have to wait. It was too windy and snowy. Instead, Chris took the kids sledding...big mistake. They sent Preston down the hill thinking he wouldn't go very fast and Chris had to catch him. His head landed in the snow and he bumped his eye and forehead on Chris' knee. At least that's all that happened, it could've been worse.















These two pictures make me laugh! Their faces were so cold, they couldn't smile or move their faces.

Going Nutty At The Nutcracker

Tonight is our last night of the Nutcracker. Cassidy is the 'mini' mini doll. She's done a wonderful job so far, especially after going to bed at 11:00pm since Tuesday. She has to arrive at 6:00 and leave 9 or 9:30. They have a lot of down time between performing. The girls are very creative and think of some pretty "nutty" games... watch below.
