Puppy Love at the Park

Here is the reason why Pres loves puppies, her name is Stella.  

She loves to jump on and lick him, it makes him laugh and laugh.

Cars can't get enough of the puppy either... loves to play w/her 

and she loves to chase him.

Car G said we could babysit just as soon as mom 

will hold Stella.  Sorry, not a dog person but I have to admit I think she's pretty cute.

down w/him.  What a great day we had on our day off from school!

Wise Words From a One-Year-Old?

Not off to a good start with Preston's vocabulary, some of his first words are:

mine, don't touch, no, poop, ouch, hot, go

Some of his better words are:

Puppy, mama, shoe, mama, sock, mama, nose

(Wish he'd learn to say dada!)

After seeing Aunt Carrie's new puppy, he's in love with puppies.

Thanks to Carson for letting Preston adopt the above puppy from him (well, I don't think he had a choice)  It's his new best friend and gives him hugs and kisses.

Loved this pict of Preston coloring, he loves when he gets to do what the older kids do, especially sitting on the chair at the table (usually confined to the high chair) Also enjoyed eating the crayon (isn't that what you're supposed to do at the table?)

Kids Like Kix For What Kix Has Got, Mom Likes Kix When They Stay In The BOX!

Guess how I spent my Monday morning?  Well, besides doing the laundry, 

(which i do every Monday morning)

I got to clean up a whole box of KIX cereal!

and how could I even get mad at a cute innocent looking face?

just help me remember next Monday when I'm starting the laundry, that Preston can now climb onto the bar stools and dump out cereal which is still sitting out from breakfast.  or just remind me to do the dishes before the laundry, that might be a better solution!

I did salvage the KIX on the counter, which Cassidy ate for dinner tonight (don't tell her)

very happy older brother who now has someone to get into trouble with...

and made it very clear who spilled the KIX (wait... maybe he did it!)(who knows, I was doing laundry)

Part III: Legoland

This picture was taken almost 4 years ago.  Cassidy looks so little.  There's another one below to compare it to.  (Sorry, can't figure out how to get them next to each other)

The highlight of legoland was this toddler play area for Preston.

Driving these cars were a favorite for Cass and Cars.

and apparently Preston too!

I wish I knew what the worker was telling Carson, because I know this look.  It's the "I'm in trouble look and I know exactly what I did wrong"

We had to have a picture with Thomas!  Carter and Carson love to play trains together.

Part II: La Jolla Beach

This was the best part of the entire vacation (including Disneyland)

Preston wishes he could play in the water too!   Before I could catch him,

he ran into the water and a wave knocked him over.  Clothes and all got wet.  

He was sooo upset, so we stuck this sweat shirt on him and he soon had fun

just playing in the sand (and eating it).

We only brought one pair of shoes on the trip for Preston and guess what happened to one of them?  It fell off the pier in Oceanside into the ocean!  So, Preston got these new pair of crocs

and we had a hard to keeping these on his feet too!

Chris was just like one of the kids.  I had the kids ready to leave and was begging him to get out of the water so we could go.

Playing in the sand is serious business!

Riding the waves on the boogie boards was where all the fun was!  Kids still can't stop talking about it and want to go back so bad!

We rented these wetsuits hoping it would help keep them warm in the 60 degree weather.

I'm so behind! Our CA trip ended a month ago, so I'll try to post what I can from our trip.

PART I: Oceanside CA

We stayed here for 2 days before heading to Carlsbad where we stayed for a week.

The surfers (wearing wet suits)were the only other humans found near the 

water besides Cassidy and Carson.

The 60 degree weather (maybe even less) didn't keep them from 

playing in the ocean.  They ran around the ocean and beach for about an hour

until they finally did get cold.

This is a pict of the pier from the top of the condo we stayed in. It was beautiful!

At the end of the pier is a restaurant called Ruby's, it was the best restaurant

Cassidy has ever eaten at.

They keep going and going and going and...

and going and going...

This is actually a SHARK, a fisherman on the pier caught it.  He said it was

just a baby shark and has no teeth.  He let the kids touch it.

Can We Start A Tradition?

Now that church is at 9:00 am, 

we have much more time on Sundays.

We've decided to try to start a tradition,  and since we're so consistent I'm sure we won't have a problem.

Treat and games.  That's it, shouldn't be too hard, especially if food is involved.  Well, we'll see how it goes.  

Our first attempt.. 

Game: Jenga.  I highly recommend this game, it was a huge hit with the kids.

They actually got 29 rows at one point.  A miracle, since neither kid can hold still, the table never held still either!

Treat: Homemade cinnamon rolls.  

My 1st attempt and Chris helped me.  I don't think we even got in a fight. (I tried to be very patient and open minded) (I admit it, you were right about the frosting)

Very delicious, but not nutritious!

Boy Removes Training Wheels and RIDES!

The snow melted (well, for one day) and the sun was shinning,

the bike had been sitting all winter.

Carson takes it for one spin around the cul-de-sac,

and decides he's ready to remove the 'training wheels.'

Mom, "You need to practice a little more,

you haven't ridden your bike all winter."

Carson, "No, I want to take the wheels off, where's the wrench?"

(How does he know what a wrench is?)

So, we find it, remove the wheels, and off we go,

mom running with Carson peddling on the bike.

He's smiling from check to check and giggling because

after about 3 tries, he's got it!!

And Yes, he keeps falling and falling and falling,

but never gives up he's riding on his own!
