Over the River and Through the Woods to Grandmother's House we Go...

Grandma's house is only an hour from Bear Lake...

so we drove over for the day

The drive was beautiful! It was so green and

yellow wild flowers were in bloom everywhere.  

Kids fell asleep.  Cass is actually touching her brother, wow!

Both kids stepped on a nail.  It went right through

their flip-flops and into their foot.

Carson was experimenting with the nail (of course) and

Cassidy's was an accident.

Grandma's remodel.  

They were installing grandma's cabinets the day

we visited, so we got to see them.

Look how much room grandma will have in her new kitchen.

I'm officially in love with abandoned old buildings, 

we saw so many during our drive.

Wish I could pick one up and put it in my backyard.

Bear Lake Vacation Is Snowed Out

1st day of vacation: 

rain, rain, and more rain.

Preston had fun climbing the stairs to the loft

while stuck indoors. 

2nd day of vacation:

SNOW, SNOW

and more SNOW!

Sad children, can't go to the beach.

so we left Bear Lake for the day 

and drove to Idaho to visit

Love Bite From Baby Brother Leaves a Permanent Mark

Yep, that's a bite from a boy named Preston

and here are the chompers below.

If you know Carson, you're probably thinking he deserved it but,

no that's not the case.

While taking a bath, Carson decided to give his brother a KISS.

As he reached for his check, Preston felt threatened at the feel of 

being pushed over into the water. 

So out of self-defense, his gut reaction was to bite

and bite hard!  So hard that he was lifted out of the water

as Carson's head flew back in pain and was saved from drowning.

Unfortunately,  there is now a scar on Carson's face.

T-ball Player Completes 1st Year

It's hard to believe T-ball is already over.

It was so fun to watch these little guys try their hardest...

even though they didn't have a clue what they were doing.

By the end of the season they improved so much...

here Carson is waiting for the batter to hit so he can run.

I think running from base to base was their favorite part of baseball.

Dad got to be Carson's coach.   He figured out what a catcher

was and that's the position he wanted to play.  

I think Chris is trying to tell him to come closer to home plate.

Here's our little "catcher" gathering the balls... just needs to learn

to throw them back to the pitcher.

Being catcher is a great job, you can even lay down if you get too tired!

I loved watching the expression on their faces.  

He looks like he's so determined to smack that ball.

New Sleeping Position Discovered!

Ever wonder how to get exercise while sleeping?

This new sleeping position is the answer.  

It takes a lot of strength to keep your body from falling off the table...

and a lot of endurance to stay in position for a full 8-10 hours.

Yes, I really did find him sound asleep on his night table...

with a puddle of drool!

Slip Slidin' Away!

The weather was actually nice for one day before the rain came back, 

perfect for trying out the slippy slide.

These are cute beach towels GooGoo sent the kids for Christmas. Thanks!

Carson found that it was more fun to pester his brother than slip on the slide so...

here he is giving me 5 mins of timeout.

I highly recommend this $7 slide from Toys R Us, it will keep your kids busy for HOURS!

8 Year Old Helps Sign Bill WIth Governor Huntsman

What an exciting day!  Cassidy was one of the two lucky students 

from her elementary school who got to go to the State Capitol and

help sign a bill w/ Gov Huntsman.  She got to sign the date!

Cassidy is in the Spanish Immersion Program at school.  This is a bill

which will provide additional funding for foreign language programs.

The inside of the Capitol building was beautiful.  Cass is posing by the staircase.

They had all the students stand in front while they talked about the bill. 

Fox news recorded the whole thing and then never put it on the news!

The Salt Lake Spanish channel was there.  They interviewed Cassidy, Chris, and I and showed it on their news.  (Under the names Mary, Melissa, and Gary Clapton, I guess they didn't understand our english when we told them our names)  Cassidy did a great job, she was interviewed in Spanish and answered all the questions in Spanish.

Life With Three Cookie Monsters

Choco chip cookies... just can't make em' fast enough.  Even Pres has caught on.  (Doesn't surprise me, he was almost named Cookie by Carson)

The Monsters like to help EVERY step of the way... from breaking eggs, to dumping flour (Oh and carefully scraping away the excess flour from the measuring cup with a knife), to mixing on high speed right after the flour is dumped in (Whosh),  to eating half the bag of choco chips before they've even been added to the concoction,  then eating half the cookie dough before rolling and baking.  Then they just can't wait for them to bake, so they watch the oven very carefully because they know that Mom burns everything!  Meanwhile, Mom gets to clean up the MESSSS!!

Well, that's ok.  As long as I have a cute cookie monster face like this one to look at!  (Anyone know how to delete photos accidently placed twice on post?)

Little Girl Bakes a Cake and Eats It TOO!
